"Despite increasing health awareness, Swedes are not likely to give up their treats. A recent commercial by OLW chips includes a song about “fredagsmys” (cosy Friday) and it has re-established this word in the Swedish vocabulary. Fredagsmys is when the whole family gathers, watches TV and eats good things like ice cream, chips, sweets or similar treats. Swedish children will not compromise this time with the family. It is like a modern ritual for them, as time with parents is sparse during the weekdays".
